Dr. Jonathan Glashow is a Board-Certified orthopedic surgeon and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He specializes exclusively in orthopedic shoulder surgery and knee injuries including advanced arthroscopic all-inside anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, revision ACL reconstruction surgery, as well as state of the art techniques for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery, shoulder labral repair surgery, MCL repair surgery, meniscal transplants surgery, fractures, and separated shoulder surgery.

Widely respected for his precision and application of groundbreaking surgical techniques, Dr. Glashow’s approach is based on a philosophy that each individual procedure is specific and customized to the individual needs of each patient. He uses minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques so that downtime and immobility are greatly reduced. Dr. Glashow’s focus is not only a patient’s full recovery but the speed of that recovery to return to sport. To optimize this intent he coordinates post-operative care which often involves interaction with physical therapists, coaches, and athletic trainers.

Routinely consulted for his opinion and treatment of elite athletes, Dr. Glashow acted as a medical media consultant for ESPN Sports and was a frequent guest on their morning sport commentary “Cold Pizza.” His guest appearances on news broadcasts include, CBS World News Tonight and most recently on CNN Evening News with John Roberts for his expertise on the usage of cutting edge treatment options for expediting the healing process of certain injuries. He has been quoted in the New York Times, the New York Daily News, and the New York Post. For his superior patient care, Glashow has been awarded numerous distinctions. Castle Connolly a major healthcare research company has ranked him one of America’s Best Doctors, New York Magazine has featured him in numerous annual Best Doctors issues, and he has been listed as one of New York Metro Area’s Best Doctors every year since 2000.

He completed his undergraduate degree at Washington University. After receiving his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, Dr. Glashow completed his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City in Orthopedic Surgery. He went on to earn subspecialty fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute/UCLA in Los Angeles, California: followed by a traveling Shoulder Fellowship in London, Ontario Canada and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
